Casa de Campo (literally “House of the Field”) is a outdoor area right next to Madrid. As it’s some sort of Trail Paradise we want to explain you a little bit about the trails and possibilities to have fun over there. The main spots where you can meet with other people or where trails are starting.

Many people come directly by bike or by car. On weekends it’s usually crowded (except if you come early in the morning or during Spanish lunch time 1-5pm). Sometimes there are even races on sundays so the main roads might be used by the organization but you can still pass on the side ways.

Good points to meet are the entrance “The Columns” (picture below) if you’re coming directly by bike or maybe with the train or subway (Principe Pio station is the closest one). If you’re coming by bike or car from the opposite site of Casa de Campo you can meet at the big parking lot or maybe at “The white gate” to get some good trail action.

A great thing about Casa de Campo is that there are some main roads and that parallel to them are always some smaller trails. This helps you in the beginning not to get lost and you could go on a trail meanwhile another person could stay on the road if preferred.

And then, everything in between the main roads is full of trails and tracks. The variety is really amazing. Difficulty-wise trails range from level S0 to S2.
We’ve written a separate post about the ground you will find at Casa de Campo.
